The prompt

Build a dermatology clinic a person can look around in three dimensions. The patient is in an examination room. Hair, rashes, and skin cancer can all be on the same person. The visit has three parts. First, a close view through a trichoscope of a small shaved patch of scalp, where each hair is tagged. Second, counts of how thick the hair is on the front, the crown, and the back, including which hairs grew over two days. Third, the rest of the skin: history, a lamp, a dermoscope, a biopsy, and a diagnosis with a plan.

The close view should look like skin, with pores, follicular openings, and hairs that curl the way that person's hair curls. Pale hair on pale skin should be hard to see until the view is magnified and oil is added. A brown halo around a thin hair, a white dot where a hair used to be, a broken stub, and an exclamation-mark hair should be visible as themselves. On the second day, hairs that are still growing show a pale new tip.

The room view shows the body, the pattern of hair, and each mark. A dermoscope fills the view with the mark you chose: its outline, its colours, and its structures. A Wood's lamp turns the room violet and shows a glow when one is there. An earlier photograph tells you whether a mark has grown.

Play is the same for a person and for a model. Clicking sends a move. The score should reward careful looking, an accurate hair count, a correct diagnosis, and a plan that is not a list of every treatment. Missing a melanoma or a scarring hair loss should cost more than missing a harmless finding. Calling a benign mole a melanoma should also cost. Do not reveal the diagnosis until the case is submitted. Say that this is a teaching simulator, not a medical device.
